We are glad to host the 2nd edition of Territori-di-Ricera!

From August to October 2026.

For artists based in Vienna, Austria.

Tanz Company Gervasi is looking for dance artists who wish to develop, explore, and bring a performative concept to life, guided in the fields of choreography, dramaturgy, and music, while integrating into the project and utilizing the infrastructure of Tanz Company Gervasi.

Territori-di-ricerca! offers:

A clear and continuous structure that goes beyond the limitations of traditional short-term residencies
Flexibility for those engaged in other artistic or professional activities
An open environment for experimentation and new ways of using the available resources

Structure and working process:

The rehearsal space will be shared, with a flexible monthly schedule adapted to the needs of all participants, the company’s own rehearsals, and other guest productions
The dates for performances and final rehearsals will be set based on the availability of the participants

The programme includes:

Temporary use of the company’s rehearsal space, Raum 33 (Laxenburger Straße 32, 1110 Vienna), from August to October 2026
Mentoring and artistic support from Elio Gervasi and members of Tanz Company Gervasi
Project coordination by Paula Dominici
Dramaturgical support from Karl Baratta and musical support from Alessandro Vicard
Access to the existing lighting system in the space
Availability of selected scenographic, video, and audio materials
Public performances at the end of the programme
This programme is free of charge.

The project aims to support emerging dance artists who wish to develop their own performative language but do not yet have access to the necessary resources or a suitable production context.

HOW TO APPLY Send an email to: audition.companygervasi@gmail.com - Subject of the e-mail: Territori-di-Ricerca! 2026 Attach: - CV or Biography - Max 2 pages of text in which you present your idea for the residency - Supporting materials (video, sound, text etc) that support the idea you wish to develop. For example, a personal interview that helps us understand who you are and what you offer. The artist applying need to have residency in Austria and having the possibility to travel frequently to Vienna. Therefore, we suggest this opportunity for artists based in Vienna.

It was a very enriching experience to be able and also to have the space to work for such a long period on an idea and undergo different stages of a process and also experience how ideas are changing over time.

It was also very helpful to have eyes from the dancers in the company and later from Elio to meet thoughts and ideas from a view from the outside you cannot have and from years of experience.

We were also appreciating that there was also space for exchange with the other participants as Julia and I used the space often together to try out and reflect and help each other.

Thank you Julia (assistant) for setting up the schedule over all this time and for always having an open ear for us and for your presence during the rehearsals.
